The Commonwealth Cashmere Tippet Scarf is a limited-edition 100% cashmere scarf made by Johnstons of Elgin in collaboration with Highgrove and The King’s Foundation. Its cashmere is sourced from three Commonwealth nations, Scotland, New Zealand and Australia, where goats play a purposeful role within thoughtful, land-positive farming systems.

The design evolves traditional weaving motifs into a fresh, collectable piece inspired by landscape, heritage and craft. A fine glen check in deep navy and olive green is crossed by a coral overcheck, and each end is finished with a twisted fringe flecked with the same coral thread. The cashmere has a softly brushed surface with a gentle lustre.

A tippet is a shorter, neater alternative to a full-length scarf, made to sit close around the neck and shoulders. At 140cm long and 25cm wide, it tucks easily inside a coat collar or loops once for an elegant finish, and its understated colours suit tweed and city tailoring alike. Light, soft and naturally insulating, it offers warmth without bulk.

Johnstons of Elgin was founded by Alexander Johnston on the banks of the River Lossie in 1797, and its family-owned mills in Elgin and Hawick have long specialised in cashmere and fine wool. The King’s Foundation champions traditional craftsmanship and His Majesty’s philosophy of working in harmony with nature, values this scarf carries into everyday wear.

Made in a limited edition, it is an exceptional gift for someone who appreciates fine natural fibres, or a personal keepsake of Highgrove with a story woven through every fibre.
