Unit price perThis limited-edition lithograph showing the back of the Castle of Mey, looking over the Pentland Firth towards the Orkney Islands, was reproduced from the original watercolour painted by His Majesty King Charles III.
His Majesty painted a number of Royal Residences. The Castle of Mey is the most northerly castle in mainland Scotland and was built by George, the 4th Earl of Caithness, in the 16th century. It was purchased by HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother, in 1952 who arranged the restoration of the castle and its gardens and parklands. In 1996 the Queen Mother transferred the castle, estate and nearby farm to a trust she had formed to secure their future.
The lithograph is limited to an edition of one hundred. Each lithograph is individually numbered, and signed by His Majesty after he became King, and it comes with a certificate of authenticity.
