    Matthew Rice is a writer, illustrator, designer, and painter who resides in Oxford and Norfolk. A regular contributor to Country Life Magazine, he is perhaps most well-known for helping run Emma Bridgewater ceramics.

    As well as creating detailed and witty illustrations, Matthew wrote and illustrated the ‘Village Buildings of Britain Handbook’, to which the then HRH The Prince of Wales contributed a foreword.

    Matthew  created an exclusive design for Highgrove Gardens and The King’s Foundation in 2022. Featuring intricately illustrated replicas of well-known garden monuments like the Sanctuary, Moorish Gate, hen house, and Dovecote, the Highgrove ‘Garden Monuments’ design can be found on a tea towel and an Emma Bridgewater handmade mug.

    The sale of highgrove products, garden tours and events support the charitable work of the kings foundation.
