Discover the story of Highgrove’s history

Open between 11am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, until the end of May at The Garrison Chapel, West London, SW1W 8BG, the exhibition, run by The King’s Foundation, offers a unique insight into Highgrove and how The King has implemented a vision to create an inspirational visitor attraction that promotes biodiversity and organic practices since he moved into Highgrove House in 1980.

“The special thing about this exhibition is the newly-uncovered archival material…”

Rosie Alderton of The King’s Foundation, exhibition curator, said: “The special thing about this exhibition is the newly-uncovered archival material, particularly photographs and design plans. Anyone can see evidence of the amazing progress of the site by visiting Highgrove Gardens, but having the sketches, notes, and correspondence, much of it by His Majesty’s hand, that informed that work is a unique selling point.”

The Highgrove in Harmony exhibition runs to coincide with celebrations around HM The King’s Coronation and London Craft Week, which runs across the UK capital from 8th to 14th May. Entry to the exhibition is free.

“The exhibition tells the story of His Majesty’s vision…”

“The exhibition tells the story of His Majesty’s vision: how the Highgrove estate has evolved over the decades—and how much sheer hard work that has taken. The Highgrove Gardens are a reflection of The King’s belief in the interconnectedness of all things. This exhibition gives a great insight into his thinking, including how he has tried to create a haven for wildlife as well as a garden that will inspire visitors.

“We also detail how the King’s Foundation has contributed to Highgrove Gardens through The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, with students taking inspiration through the Modern Artisan Fashion and Textile Training Programme and The Snowdon Furniture School.”

The sale of highgrove products, garden tours and events support the charitable work of the kings foundation.
