Emma Bridgewater is the founder and owner of the classic, modern pottery brand Emma Bridgewater.

Emma founded the company in 1985 after going shopping for two cup and saucer gifts for her late mother and being unable to find anything that wasn't either dainty and formal or robust and decidedly unromantic, so she decided to make her own.

Since then, the company has created many iconic hand-painted ceramicware designs that capture the imagination whilst remaining true to the spirit that everyday kitchen china sits right at the centre of our lives.

They have a factory and shop in Stoke-on-Trent selling ceramics, homeware and accessories, personalised gifts, and even wallpaper and fabrics, all with the same fun and imaginative designs as when they first began. Their ceramics are also available in well-known stores like Fortnum & Mason, Liberty London, and John Lewis.

Emma Bridgewater has played a major role in reviving the ceramics industry in Stoke-on-Trent. Thirty five years after its foundation, every mug is still made and decorated by hand in their Staffordshire factory.

    Highgrove 'Garden Monuments' Illustrative Mug

Also designed and illustrated by Matthew Rice, the Highgrove 'Garden Monuments' mug was the first Emma Bridgewater mug design exclusively made for Highgrove and The King's Foundation. This mug brings a small piece of the gardens into your kitchen and features intricately illustrated replicas of Highgrove House, the Dovecote, and the hen house. Emma Bridgewater is pleased to have produced a mug for Highgrove Gardens and The King's Foundation, as their philosophy of focusing on products made and designed in Britain resonates powerfully with her.

Made in the home of British Pottery

Made at the Emma Bridgewater factory in the home of British pottery, Stoke-on-Trent, the 'Garden Monuments' mug is created from cream-coloured earthenware. It is a shape synonymous with Emma Bridgewater, often used for many of their well-known designs, like the colourful polka dots. Traditional skills and craftsmanship go into every piece of Emma Bridgewater pottery, with each ceramic passing through roughly 30 pairs of hands before it reaches a customer.

The sale of highgrove products, garden tours and events support the charitable work of the kings foundation.
