Botanical Drawing Workshop with Garden Tour (One-Day)

WITH KATHARINE AMIES

Thursday 14th May | Thursday 2nd July 2026

£160.00

Join us at Highgrove for a Botanical Drawing Workshop hosted by Katharine Amies. This one-day course begins with the fundamentals of drawing, where you will learn how to create convincing three-dimensional forms using a pencil. You will then apply these techniques to a small botanical subject, such as a vegetable, fruit, or rosehip.

As the workshop progresses, you will be introduced to watercolour, learning how to move and layer paint across the paper to achieve smooth tones and depth of colour. With these skills, you will go on to draw and paint a flower or small botanical subject, bringing it to life through careful observation and delicate brushwork.

The day also includes a one-hour guided tour of the gardens at Highgrove and a two-course lunch, offering the perfect opportunity to take inspiration from the many botanicals found throughout the gardens.

Please note, this is a one-day workshop.
